Sparky’s Transmission building is located in Normal Heights, San Diego. This stretch of Adams Avenue is between more populated buildings. Around it are trendy bars and restaurants intermixed with older buildings like Sparky’s. I was drawn to photograph the building because the inside lights were on, so the building glowed like a lantern on the otherwise desolate street. The building was sold in 2010 to investors who say the building will be used for redevelopment, but thus far, it has not been demolished or renovated, in fact it is still in use as an auto shop.
